Information and signposting for local and national support
Navigating grief following a bereavement can feel incredibly difficult. It can bring a wide range of emotions. Everybody's experience will be different and it's important to take time to look after yourself. However you’re feeling right now, please know that you’re not alone.
It’s okay to need extra support during this time. Reaching out for help can take courage, but you don’t have to go through it alone. There are many people, services, and charities that offer emotional and wellbeing support for those who are grieving.

Remember, there’s no “right” or "wrong" timeline for grief. If reaching out feels difficult, can you ask a trusted friend or loved one to help you find and connect with the support that feels right for you.

Supporting Ourselves and Others Through Baby Loss - Online Event Recording
This is a recording from an event hosted by Compassionate Sheffield as part of the Sheffield Life, Loss and Death Festival 2025 on May 1st 2025. This online event offered a space to share different ways that people may be affected by the experience of baby loss. It included discussion about how we can support ourselves and others through this, how to recognise when someone may need some extra support, what that support might be and how to access it. The event is suitable for those who have experienced baby loss or who wish to learn more about supporting others through baby loss. It contains some sign posting information for further support in Sheffield and nationally. Facilitated by Dr Laura Francis, Principal Clinical Psychologist.
Organisations and Charities
In the workshop, Laura shared some really helpful signposting to different places available to access support. We have listed them in the document below.
