Facilitation guide

This tool has been created using learning from the Sheffield Life, Loss and Death Festival 2024. It aims to support anyone planning to deliver one or more (creative) in-person group sessions on the topic of death, dying or bereavement. The target audience ranges from those who are brand new to facilitating events to those who have more experience. It hopes to offer tips and ideas to reflect on when designing your own sessions, rather than an exact guide to specific session outlines.

"What Should I Do Now?" Booklet

"What Should I Do Now? Practical advice and support following a death" is a booklet resource that Compassionate Sheffield has co-created to support people after someone dies.

Often, people can be navigating and processing a bereavement, whilst also being responsible for the practical steps that need to happen after someone dies. Grieving, whilst also trying to understand and implement these administrative tasks can be really difficult.

This booklet has been designed to support adults following the death of someone significant in their life. The booklet might be picked up by the person who needs it, or shared with that person, at any time that feels suitable. This could be before, or shortly after someone dies. It aims to provide clear but gentle guidance to people who have the responsibility to manage some, or all, of the practical and administrative tasks following someone’s death.

Visit the booklet's dedicated webpage to download the booklet, or request a printed copy and access supportive resources and guidance.
